Pump Portraits was dreamed up over the breakfast table by director, Libby, and her photographer husband, Nick. Since the release in 2018, every shoot date has been booked out with dancers eager to strut their stuff in front of the camera. Libby works with dancers of all ages to bring out their personality and showcase their ability, while leaving Nick to the technical stuff. Each dancer brings out their unique style in the shots and Libby and Nick can’t wait to create more beautiful photography in 2019.
Welcome back Pump dancers and hello to our new dancers! We are so excited to dance with you this year. We are running Welcome Workshops for all dancers who would like a taster of our 2019 classes. Check out the timetables below for our Wellington, Khandallah and Eastbourne workshops. They are absolutely free and everyone is welcome. No need to sign up, just come along and have a boogie!
The newest Air NZ Safety video features 70 Pump dancers, giving it everything they’ve got, in a hip hop safety rap! Not only did we perform in the vid, but studio director Libby George was the lead choreographer for all of the community groups throughout NZ. It was a huge project to be part of and we had an absolute ball performing with an awesome bunch of Kiwis.

Huge congrats to the Pump army for shining bright at the NZ Schools Hip Hop Competition! Esteem's 1st, Sassy's 2nd and Artemis' 3rd placing was the cherry on top!
Well done to Onyx, Intensity, Phoenix and Kingdom for making Finals too!
It’s that time of year where we plan our big show,
We usually keep the theme on the down-low.
This year it’s different, we’ll give you some clues,
There’s a strong leading lady with a fab pair of shoes.
Brains, heart and courage are part of the plan,
They just need to find a mythical man.
Striped socks on her nemesis, so wicked and mean,
While new friends in the city, claim it’s easy being green.
Brick roads and twisters and slippers, oh wow.
The time to start guessing our story… is now!
Save the date for our end of year production, Saturday 4 November at the Wellington Opera House!
Your favourite Pump teachers are performing in an original show this weekend! Youthline Wellington are fighting for funds at the moment, so we decided to raise some money for them with a 'Battle It Out Showcase'. Our Wellington crews and troupes performed their hearts out for judges and audience on Thursday 13th April. They blew us away with their talent, enthusiasm and energy. After two sold out shows, Pump had raised over $1000 for Youthline Wellington and our dancers were already asking when the next showcase would be!
Term one has officially started and our crews are already training for their first competition! We are totally PUMPED to get back into classes... see what we did there?
